WOSB Awarded New 5 Year $26 Million Navy Contract

MIKEL, Inc, a woman-owned, small business in Middletown has been awarded a new 5-year, $26 million government contract to support the Code 15 Sensors and SONAR Systems department at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport.

Code 15 is responsible for research and development of sensors and SONAR systems used on the Navy’s submarine and surface combatant fleet.

“This new contract is a natural extension of the work MIKEL is doing in the areas of SONAR Systems which has helped position us to win this award and perform the high level of work.  MIKEL will bring an innovative approach to all aspects of this job and will bring in the right talent to help meet the Navy’s needs,” said Kelly Mendell, President of MIKEL.

The Contract 

This new contract award adds to MIKEL’s portfolio of government contracts supporting the Navy, and represents follow on work from multiple unrestricted contracts previously held by large companies.

MIKEL will provide services in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, ocean engineering, system engineering, computer science, computer engineering, physics and logistics to code 15.
