Andromeda Systems Inc. stands to make millions of dollars over five years by providing logistics and technical support services at Naval Air Station North Island.

The U.S. Navy awarded the small business a deal with a ceiling of $35.2 million. Some 28 percent of the work is expected to be performed at North Island and the rest in other cities, according to a Pentagon announcement from Dec. 12.

Under the deal, Andromeda will provide what the Pentagon calls reliability-centered maintenance for new and in-service aircraft, engines, systems, support equipment and depot plant equipment, including their modifications, during all life cycle phases and levels of maintenance.

The company will also do large amounts of work in Cherry Point, N.C., and Jacksonville, Fla., and smaller amounts at air stations around the United States. The contract concludes in December 2021.

Andromeda’s headquarters office is in Virginia Beach, Va. Its local office is in Mission Valley.

Privately held Andromeda had 2015 revenue of $31.8 million and turned in growth of 70 percent over three years, according to Inc. magazine’s most recent list of 5000 fastest-growing companies. The business has been on the Inc. list for seven years.

The Pentagon set aside the logistics deal for small business contractors. Andromeda was the sole bidder. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division at Patuxent River, Md., awarded the deal.
